As we all continue to social distance and take the necessary safety precautions, the spread of COVID-19 continues in the Philippines. Although it’s slowing down, we are all still concerned, especially for our workers and the children in our care. However, we are very grateful and happy to report that all of the staff and children at our orphanage in Manaoag are doing well!
We have a lot of land at the orphanage so while the kids are technically under quarantine, they are able to get outside, have a great time and enjoy their summer. School starts back again in June so we are in prayer about how the government will decide to handle that in light of this crisis. Unlike in the United States, most households in the Philippines don’t have the technology to support the ‘school from home’ model. As a result, children are at risk due to the decreased learning opportunities. So we are praying for that along with the continued health and well-being of each of the orphans and staff.
